Think about that. CFB is the only college sport where half of the teams in a division have no chance (OK, an extremely small chance) of playing for a championship.


This is what will bring about the next big split in college football. Same thing happened in the 80s with Divison 1-A and 1-AA.

Yep. It makes sense, sitting here at my desk, to relegate the non-power conferences to FCS. But try convincing East Carolina, for example, that they have no seat at the grown up's table.

To fix this we would need to turn it into 4 power conferences, with 4 lower conferences for a total of 8. And use the same system the English football league uses, where teams can drop to the lower level or jump to the top level depending on their performance.
