This is why they should have used the BCS formula to determine the four teams.

this is what I wanted all along.
4 teams is perfect, it doesn't need to be any more than that (although I'm sure money will dictate that it eventually will). Just use the BCS and take 4 instead of 2 and we're golden.

There was nothing wrong with the selection formula in use, it just needed to be expanded to a larger field.
