I don't really see the flaw in that, especially this year. the playoffs aren't supposed to award you a spot for winning your conference. it's supposed to pick the 4 best teams, regardless of conference

You were sold a bill of goods my friend

Playoff was created to reign in the SEC and give power back to the Rose Bowl alliance of the B1G and PAC. 3 spaces will be reserved for the 3 biggest markets - B1G, PAC, and SEC - and the last slot will be the best of the 3 possible choices Notre Dame or B12 or ACC.

And the old format was supposed to take into consideration the strength of schedule just like this one. "Supposed to "will be a common theme after the selection each yr.

The OP is right, U have 5 Power conferences how can u have 4 spots? And whether u believe there are 5 real power conferences doesnt matter, theyre there.

All the SEC people think its a given that one of their teams will get in each yr. When they leave the SEC champ out because they had two losses, then u will know how stupid it is to have 5 conferences but only let 4 in.
I think the NFL should eliminate the NFC South champ from entering the playoffs. Sounds fair, doesnt it?
