Just a little info.
Your search history is actually pretty secure outside of the history. If you look at the url when you type yahoo, Google, etc. (not bing) it has https:// which means it's being run as an encrypted search. This means that, unless your work filter is running decryption (which is highly unlikely, but improbable) they can't see your search outside of confiscating your computer and looking at the history.
So incognito is the safest method. If you can do SSL (https://) Google searches.
