1) Mississippi State
2) Alabama
3) Ole Miss
4) Auburn
5) LSU
6) Arkansas

State is the most complete team in the country. I think Alabama would beat Ole Miss more times than not on a neutral field. Auburn is still very, very good. And I'm probably guilty of just dropping them because they didn't play. Don't hate me Auburn fans. I love y'all and I think y'all are one of the best teams in the country. You'll get your chance to prove it.

LSU and Arkansas are both capable teams. One of them will upset one of the big dogs and throw a wrench in everything.

Yep. That's about it. Not forgetting anyone I don't think.

3/4) Bama/Auburn

I'm an AU homer and I think we're probably better than Bama. I also think we can generally compete well with Ole Miss, and are closer to MSU's level overall. But given our last performance I don't see the justification for those theories, even if this is a personal ranking. We'll see what happens in the next several weeks.

I think Ole Miss is the best team in the country. That D is nasty. We lost the MSU game; they didn't win it.

1) State/Ole Miss*
3) Alabama/Auburn
5) LSU
6) Arkansas
7) Texas A&M

* Until one of them loses, I don't really see how anyone can question some combination of Ole Miss and State at #1 and #2. Could Alabama beat Ole Miss if they played again? Possibly. But guess what? They didn't when they actually played.

Ole Miss
Bama
State
Auburn

Because defense wins championships, and OM and Bama (in that order) have the best defenses. All four are very good teams.
