My biggest fear is that committee overlooking undefeated teams like MSU (assuming we were) in favor of teams like auburn with 1 loss just due to prestige historically. Especially when you have a frickjng former politician like Rice on it who could be bought off

The system is a joke to not use the rankings to decide the playoff

No way will that happen should MSU win out. Would be an instant credibility killer. 4 team playoff won't work in the long run imo.

This statement is illogical, but also is ironic. Auburn more than any other team has been passed over for mythical national titles or shots at them because of lesser teams with historical prestige.

You can put that particular fear to rest. It won't happen. If it came down to a one-loss MSU vs a one-loss Auburn/Bama/UGA, on the other hand, you'll likely have a legitimate concern.
