I was thinking the area around where Mara Lynn intersects Green Mountain wouldn't be one of my choices to live. I've known different people that lived in those apartments on the other end of Green Mountain where it intersects Rodney Parham and I thought they were okay but they may have gone downhill. I know they've been there a long time.
I think OP was actually describing the area further south on Shackleford where Shackleford Crossings is located which would be a good place to live provided you are west of I430.

Yes, the apartments on Green Mountain used to be fine but have gone very much downhill the last few years, enough so that police cars try to keep a fairly visible presence there and tend to make regular passes. I agree that the areas further south on Shackleford, near Shackleford Crossings & west of I430 are fine.
