A possible Egg Bowl National Championship?
And he's still riding that ND dick.

Those teams play each other, too. So that's not going to happen...

Exactly - this is the playoff I can almost guarantee WON'T happen. FSU-ND this weekend & Egg Bowl later will knock two of those out (although there will probably be 1-loss teams in the playoff).

If both OM & State are undefeated headed into the Egg Bowl, both will make the playoff as long as the winner wins the SEC championship game.

I don't see how this is realistic.
Their is bound to be a 1 loss conference champion somewhere. That would assume 2 loss champions in the BIG 10, BIG 12, and PAC 12. Even then, Notre Dame still might not get in if they lose to FSU.
Also, Ole Miss and Miss State play each other ; in addition, FSU and Notre Dame play each other.

What do you guys not understand about current playoff projection? Are ole miss and mississippi state not the top two teams right now?
Posted on 10/12/14 at 11:53 am to DrunkenStuporMan
Notre Dame just about dropped one last night. As much as it pains me to say it, I wouldn't be the least surprised to see them drop one to someone like UofL.

How do you people not understand these "who's in" graphics. NO ONE IS CALLING THEM A PREDICTION.
they are "if the season was over right now" hypotheticals. NO ONE is predicting this as a potential actual playoff. These just serve to hype the regular season games that will cause the current situation to change.

Holtz is just ignoring the schedules coming up with something stupid like that.
There really is a pretty clear shakeout so far:
1. SEC champ
2. FSU/ND winner
3. Baylor/Oklahoma winner
4. Oregon or Michigan State (presuming one or both win their conferences with no more losses)
I don't see the SEC getting 2 teams in after reading that mock session SI printed simulating the 2008 season, in which they managed to conclude a 1 loss Alabama team that lost a real close SEC championship game to #2 Florida was no better the the 7th or 8th team in their playoff model. It was stunning to read how they felt the process would go.
It's clear there is going to be strong bias for conference champs and ignore the meat grinder schedule the SEC plays. The only way we get 2 teams is A Baylor loss (to OU, WV, KSU, or OSU). or a combination of OU, Oregon, and MSU all to drop a 2nd game which is possible, but unlikely for all 3 to go down.

If ND put a bronze statue of me outside the stadium, I'd ride it too.

I understand now. However, i don't see the point of a projection in the college football playoffs. Anyone can slap together what they believe the top 4 teams right now into graphic. That takes takes zero effort. That projection has like 0% chance of actually happening.

ND is one of 6 undefeated so why the LOL at this. It will all play out as some of the Undefeated play each other.
