AJ is entitled to express his opinion. Many former players are doing in so why is there a problem with AJ doing it?

He's got his right to an opinion, but I think its a little out of place for a such a recent QB to try to be so opinionated about the inner-workings of the team. You didn't see McElroy being critical after the 9-6 loss to LSU. If this was AJ's only comment in the last few months, it'd be one thing.

But I agree with the post above, this shouldn't be the topic of the thread. The fact that Saban could be handcuffing the offense for big games should be a cause for concern. Its a strategy that I'll never understand and it obviously isn't working for us right now if that is indeed the case.

It's definitely a free world and he is saying what he feels. I will just add these quotes from the article as to why I personally think he should stahp...

quote:

I think that was one of the best things we did while I was there. We spread the ball around to everybody. I mean, I think in numerous games ... where we had almost everybody on offense catch the ball that was eligible to catch the ball. Teams could never really pinpoint and play their defenses to cover Coop and I think that's one of the things they're struggling with right now.

I thought OJ for one was targeted more times in the Ole Miss game than he was all of last season, LOL. How did that turn out though??? More from AJ...

quote:

"I'll tell you one person who I thought I'd see a little bit more out there making plays and get a little more of the offense going toward him is Christion Jones. He was a huge playmaker when I was there. I looked for him all the time. If I saw anyone one-on-one with Christion, I'm going to him. He's an excellent route runner. He's got good hands. I think right now, just this last game, I didn't see a whole lot of balance and spreading the ball around the field. I think they were keying on Coop a little too much and that hurt them."

Just stahp... please stahp AJ, LOL!!!

There shouldn't be one. If we can take the compliments we should be able to take constructive criticism.

Besides, AJ isn't saying anything that we haven't thought or posted during and after the game last Saturday.

We all saw we were extremely conservative in our playing calling from right after our first play (run option Blake gained like 7 yards off of which we never ran again. Why??). Once we gained the lead 14-3 and came out for the second half the difference in the game was Ole Miss felt they had nothing to lose and starting allowing Bo to make plays.

Instead of us allowing Blake to, we ran a vanilla offense trying not to lose instead of attempting to win.

When we finally were forced to release our sphincters and actually go for it. Sims hit Cooper on a deep dig/in route and we marched down the field with ease. If not for OJ's holding call I'm pretty sure we'd have scored with a first down on the 20 yard line and 40 seconds to go.

Not the first game where we've lost because we were too conservative early, in the middle then tried to let loose too late. With that said, no coach, player or person is perfect. Every person or system has its flaws.

Ask Kellen Williams. Just called in to Packer and Savage on Sirius about 30 minutes ago calling AJ out for doing it.
