I love his analysis, but his whiney voice gets on my nerves every now and then.

Only his voice tones are bothersome. I think he's impartial, professional, and always brings relevant talking points.

I for one very much dig listening to him, because he keeps me honest with what I'm seeing regardless of it being good or bad.

He aggravates me. He asks dumb questions during games. Like in the 2009 SEC Championship game, asking if a kick that deflected off the upright was returnable. I mean, really? Stopping play when a RB lowers his head and marking him down at that spot. ugh.

eta- and while sometimes he is honest. Sometimes he is just wrong and repeats it over and over, like when a call is being reviewed, and it's obvious he got it wrong.

Smartest analyst in College Football....

But he doesn't know when to shut up. He'll say 10 words when 5 will do. He'll talk over great moments and offer his opinion when the moment doesn't really call for it.

Example: Cody blocks the FG to beat UT in 2009. Amazing scene and the crowd is going crazy. Danielson brings up Cody taking off his helmet before the play was over. He continues to harp on it as Cody, who is full of emotions, walks to the lockerroom with the whole stadium chanting his name. Danielson just vomits over the moment.

Danielson usually isn't as bad as most fans say he is, but against Florida he was just insufferable. Kind of becoming college football's version of Johnny Miller.

I think he is one of the better in-game analysts in college football right now. I think he does his homework and knows what he is talking about. I think he is impartial too, except for like anyone he can sometimes try to make the narrative fit some of his preconceived notions about teams (I think he does this a lot less than a lot of others though). Of course he isn't perfect, but he is as good as anyone else in the college game I can think of.

He's the best analyst in all of football professional or college. I can see how some people have a dig with him but it's all good. He knows the game of football.

He's ok. He was really annoying during the Florida game. He kept going on and on about Hargreaves. The guy got burned all day and limped off the field about 10 times during the game. The kid might be good, but I wouldn't put tape in of that game to show scouts.

I like him. Verne offers nothing in the way of analysis.

I love Verne, but Danielson....meh. I mean, I like a lot of what he does, but not everything. I enjoy the two together though if I'm watching from home or rewatching after getting home.

I like Danielson...he can be opinionated and some times goes on too long but he's usually an astute analyst...and I think he & Verne are the best college football announcing team around today...they're not perfect but they don't seem to have a bias and work well together...

Don't think any team will ever match Keith Jackson and Frank Broyles as a college football broadcasting team...but I think Verne & Gary are the closest to 'em that we've got today...

Yeah, Danielson was wrong 'bout that. I know several UT fans (as well as Lane Kiffin) were hollering that a flag should've been thrown and UT should've been allowed to re-kick. That is incorrect; if a Cody had been penalized, it still would've been Bama's ball. According to the SEC officials:

"The foul for taking a helmet off is a live ball foul treated as a dead-ball foul," SEC spokesman Charles Bloom explained in an e-mailed statement. "That is, if it happens on a play where time does not expire then the penalty is enforced on the following play. However, since the clock ran out on that play, then there is no next play so there is no penalty to mark off."

Don't know if it's been changed since then, but that was the rule back in 2009...

I like him very much actually. Doesn't have the velvet pipes of Keith Jackson but I'm always impressed with his knowledge of the game. Verne is a putz though.

GD had to grow on me over the years. He is one of the most intelligent analysts on television. But he is a yankee and his train of thought is always from the negative. Get past that part of his personality and just listen to his observations. Usually he is spot-on.

I can't stand Verne. Gary is actually very insightful and I like him.

He gets a lot of hate because it's the easy thing to do. Sometimes our fans hate anyone that doesn't praise Saban, Bama, etc.. It's pretty comical.
