Scoring Defense:

52nd Tennessee

All you have to do now is figure out how to defend on first and second down, and you're all set!

I get that 3rd down efficiency is a big morale boost, but it's a flawed way of looking at Defense. I would like to see the rankings on defenses ability on third down with their ability to reach third down factored in. Like, giving up a 1st down on 1st or 2nd would count as a 3rd down conversion.

I'm not sure if that stat has a name. "three down defense" ? I couldn't find anything on the site.
