We could turn it into some kind of Aggy-like tradition where we all defecate on Bear's grave before gameday?

Just think how much more popular Sumlin would be if he cared about Defense and won something.

I'd like to see the Aggies play 8 or 9 ranked teams in one season as our 2007 and 2011 teams did.

I'll have you know that I was at the Arkansas game in 2007, and everyone in that stadium was ready for Miles to pack his bags. And people actually wanted him to go to Michigan, especially since there were rumblings that they could get Saban back. Pitt majorly upsetting West Virginia, Kansas beating Missouri, helped LSU vault 5 spots in the final BCS rankings. Changed his legacy forever. But a lot of LSU fans realize that when they see his recent mishaps.

Yeah. He probably just recruits stud defenders for kicks. He doesn't actually care about defense. His fast start has given people the opportunity to see the weaknesses, but he is working on those. Aggie fans can see that, and that is why they love him so much.

So the only certain things on this list are that Nick Saban will always be first and Miles will always be last. In five years, most of these schools will have new coaches to be optimistic about.

Yeah, a lot of our fans have the jilted lover thing going on. It's no secret. They hate/worship Saban. Miles will never measure up.

I'm not Miles' #1 fan by any stretch but I do appreciate what we have now relative to what we had at any point prior to Saban coming to town.

We've won 80% of our games since 2005, more than any other school save Boise and Ohio State.

The decline is very, very real.

if it wasn't for a lucky 2-loss title

nearly all National titles involve some luck. LSU was lucky to be able to be in that game but it wasn't luck that LSU crushed Ohio State. and miles has won the SEC twice in 9 years. not bad at all.

and of course, the aggies haven't sniffed the SEC title or the national title so talk about titles coming from y'all is hollow.

there are only two coaches in the west that have won titles.

So defensive. It's incredible. Not to mention that A&M has been in the conference for two years, and our first season came after firing a coach. Not like we have had 9 years of a post-Saban program.

yea, saban has helped us a lot for the last nine years. probably cost us a couple more NC's.

if you think that a coach's influence lasts after he leaves a program you don't know much about programs. sure, players he recruited are there for awhile but zero influence.

how about this; Sumlin INHERITED the best offense in the big 12, Sumlin INHERITED jff; Sumlin INHERITED the best OL in the big 12 and maybe the best in the country.

he also INHERITED some damn good RB's; he just didn't know what to do with them

You are derailing this thread. Miles is a good coach, but he is also the most disliked amongst his own fans. And nobody can argue against that.

ok, sorry. but miles is very much liked by the majority of LSU fans. there is a segment that hate him and they are extremely vocal. LSU fans traditionally bitch about their HC; they bitched about Saban, esp when he first arrived and right before he left (he didn't recruit well his last year and his team was not that good after he won the NC). nobody seems to remember that. so yes, i'm challenging the statement that Miles is mostly dislike by his own fans. even if your contacts indicate otherwise. all HC's have faults and the LSU fans are quick to jump on those and bitch about them. I've seen it too long. but push come to shove, the vast majority of LSU fans do not want Miles to leave.

True, but I can see the frustration of your upset fans. I've said it before, but I'll say it again. Watching Miles lose a football game is like watching a guy lose a knife fight without drawing his knife.

agreed. but thankfully he doesn't lose many games.

Miles is the only coach in America that goes 13-0 in the hardest conference in the country, lose one game and damn near gets run out of town! that's LSU fans for you. LSU fans hate losing and they aren't quiet about it.

Les Miles is the best coach of all of those. They're only two on that list who have a national championship. Les Miles is one of them.

If you seriously think Les Miles is a better coach than Nick Saban, I can't help you.

Sumlin is 50, probably older than a lot of people realize. He also walks like he's 80. He's got those former linebacker legs.

Never really thought about that, but the second I read it I could absolutely picture his crip walk. The best is when he does the little half jog to the locker room at half.

Yup. The dude has completely changed his image for recruiting purposes, but he is still this man inside.

Here he is now.
