Seeing that we did not meet the initial target of 32 members, I had to make some adjustments with the conference structure. Instead of four conferences there will be only two. Also, to make the format work, there has to be an even number of teams. We had 21 participants submit their names, so I unfortunately had to cut one of those to get to 20. td01241, since you were the last to submit your name, I reluctantly had to with hold you from the official lineup. I do apologize. I was honestly hoping to get to at least 24 members, so no one would have to be cut.

**Thanks to new member DawgHolliday for coming aboard and allowing me to reinstate td01241!**

**We welcome two new members to the League ... S1C EM & AFDawg11! That brings us to 24 members! And eliminates the need for the doubleheader in the weekly match-ups.**

With that business done ... here is the Official Conference Line-up for the Inaugural Season of the Purgatory Football League!

PFL members ... I will be updating this thread later tonight with the weekly match-up schedules, details on the scoring system, other pertinent information, and yes ... the first week of picks! Thank you!

**UPDATE**

This is how this will work.

Each week for the next 10 weeks … members will play a head to head match-up with a member of their conference. There will be a slate of 10 games in which the players will pick which team they think will win the game. A correct winner pick is worth 7 points ( a TD and a PAT).

**Seeing that we have 11 members in each conference, and we need each member to play every member in his conference … we have a slight problem … you can't schedule each week to have all members playing … one member will be the odd man out. So … I have a workaround … each week 1 member will play a double-header of sorts. Meaning he will be playing against 2 opponents simultaneously. I will select which member is playing a double-header each week. Don't fret … you only have to do it once**

The “Go for 2” Bonus

Each week a “Go for 2 “ bonus will be made available. It will require you predicting which team will score first in that game. If your prediction is correct and you made the correct winner pick … your score for that game is 8 points instead of 7. But if your prediction is incorrect, and you pick the correct winner … your score for that game will be 6 points. You can go for 2 in every game if you so choose

The “Go for 2” bonus is completely optional. It can help you or it can hurt you. Also remember … I will be keeping a record of cumulative points earned throughout the season. This cumulative points will aid in breaking ties between players for advancement to the play-offs.

Each weekly list of picks will also contain a “Tie Breaker” bonus question. Most often it will be predicting the total combined points of a particular game that week. A correct prediction is worth 3 points. The points earned from the tie breaker bonus if applicable will go to your season cumulative points totals.

The Play-offs

The two members in each conference with the best records will advance to the play-offs. This play-offs will be held during the College Bowl season. I have yet to determine which slate of Bowl Games that will be used. Probably the ones the Saturday before Christmas. I know … those suck … but hey … this is the play-offs! More details on that when we get closer to the time.

The PFL Championship Game

The two members who emerge victorious from the 4 Member play-off will advance to play for the Purgatory Football League (PFL) Championship. This will take place on New Years Eve & New Years Day. The Bowl Games used for the Championship Game will be …

Peach Bowl - Dec 31
Fiesta Bowl - Dec 31
Orange Bowl - Dec 31
Cotton Bowl - Jan 1
Rose Bowl - Jan 1
Sugar Bowl - Jan 1
