Hurd has impressed the committee with his hard nosed running, but his yards per touch numbers were too low to put him ahead of others at this point.
However, his two best games have come against UT's best competition, so he is rightfully knocking on the door.

I am sure the committee took into account his fumble that gave UGA the win.
