Todd Graham is the name I keep hearing.

IMO, you should go for the ASU OC, Norvell. He's the brains behind the ASU success right now, IMO. They get little talent yet have great offenses. He was at the top of Gus' list to hire as Auburn OC

He was a candidate to be UF's OC. No way he is given the HC gig.

He is the reason I like Graham. Nobody would accept another coordinator as HC, but the idea of him coming with Graham is definitely intriguing.

What I think is unfair is the double stand. At least on the surface y'all seem to be held politically to a higher standard than old Free Shoes is. I have assumed that is because y'all are the name university, and therefore you have to deal with the Yankee expectations of a university the carpet baggers bring. Y'all can't be seen to have "misplaced priorities" like every other SEC school. Y'all aren't going to be the ones pushing a salary ceiling in a sport unless the coach is legendary. I think that is cool, y'all are the defender of the sport in that way.

With that said I would hate the same standard applied to A&M. We are certainly overpaying our coach this season (beyond what any Yankee AD would accept), but if we didn't he would be gone and we would be rebuilding in the same cycle as Texas. Sometimes it pays to pay and be the ones that can push the envelope.

Not always. Foley didn't choose Meyer did he? Machen pulled the trigger on that one.

I'm sure Machen helped, but it is not like Machen and Meyer were longtime friends. Machen was at Utah for a matter of months before he was hired at Florida. Don't know how much they really knew each other.

In this current landscape of college football you have to pay. or you get left behind.

Not always. Miles was in retrospect a cheap hire. USCw, a top program, made a value hire.

There is a difference between not getting a splash and missing on a splash and having to settle ala Michigan now.

Les isn't cheap anymore. Hoke is the 7th highest paid coach in the country. They got screwed big time.

In his defense, Cheeseburger Charlie wasn't his decision entirely.

I'd hand Meyer a blank check to come back.

There are few things that you can definitively say never too. This is one of them.
He will never coach at UF again. The heat and humidity have been attributed to an increase in his esophageal spasms.

We gave Meyer a $1 million going-away bonus. I'd like that money back.

I agree with all this right here but having said that the UF academic administration cares greatly about football and the other sports. Its very rare for a university that is considered good in academics to have a faculty that supports the sports programs. One of the things I have always loved about UF. Why not be good at both.

Mussie was the HC, so who's choice was it? I'm not sure why I have so much resentment towards Weis, but I do. I think it's b/c he reminds me of Lane Kiffin or the Wall Street guys that continue to f up and still land sweet arse jobs.
