The people you aren't allowed to criticize are the ones in charge.
And in America the Cops are everyone's boss. Even making a quick movement is going to get you blasted away by some douchebag with a bag. And larger douchebags are defending the cops saying "well if he hadn't made that sudden movement".
Look, the USA isn't Fallujah, there is NO REASON why cops are so eager to blast citizens.
I consider myself a realist, and any time someone has a job where they can be shot at any moment for something as simple as a traffic violation -- I think there's a problem in both directions, not just with police officers.
Our citizens have quick access to weapons, and will use them not to go to prison/jail or pay a small fine. Reaching into your vehicle and turning around is a bad idea, period, when someone has a gun on you.
As I said: Your best option is to drop on the ground and have your day in court.
Not the morgue.

My question is why did the cop pull his gun in the first place? Yeah the kid was moving a little fast, but the cop was shooting him before he even came out of the car.
No excuse for this. The kid is lucky the cop was a terrible shot. Who else might he have hit with that pistol? If he'd killed anyone else, the department would just write it off as 'collateral damage'.
