My thoughts exactly.
Taking the maroon colored glasses off the best I can...what is the incentive for Sumlin to leave? Salary is a wash, as he already makes as much as Garrett which is $5 mil/yr and that is right about average for an NFL coach. Plus, we have a new stadium coming on line, we are forecasting a large growth in revenue (SECN, Attendance, etc.) and he can pretty much be his own GM. I don't see what would be in it for him. Please though, someone point out what the upside is for him leaving now.

I mean i think most coaches, maybe not all coaches but most, see the NFL as the ultimate level for their profession and the place to go to prove they are the best at what they do. Coaches in good situations aren't necessarily going to jump at any NFL job though. I don't know how Sumlin thinks or what his career priorities are but it shouldn't surprise anyone if he takes a shot at the NFL at some point in the next few years depending on results.
