CBS sideline reporter Allie LaForce: “Driskel just 5-for-17 with a pick. What do you tell him at the half?”

Muschamp: “Well, we can still run the ball. We need to stay with the run a little bit more, continue to take some shots. We’ve had a couple drops. We missed the deep ball on their sideline.”

Gainesville Sun columnist Pat Dooley: “Will, you talked all summer about Jeff getting better. But tonight, he certainly didn’t look better. What do you think his problem was?”

Muschamp: “Well, I think it was overall execution offensively. We didn’t do enough up front. We didn’t get enough going in the run game. We had some holes. Matt and Kelvin both had some nice runs.”

Muschamp goes on for a few more sentences without answering the question, just like he did heading into the locker room. But on his television show Sunday, Muschamp criticized his secondary — for the second week in a row — and flat out said he’s making changes there.

Why the double standard? How come the running backs, receivers, linemen and defensive backs get singled out, but not Driskel?

Moreover, Florida’s offensive line gave up zero sacks at Alabama and the Gators ran for 107 yards on 27 carries (4.0 average).

Muschamp’s coddling of Driskel is a far cry from South Carolina coach Steve Spurrier, who called his players an “embarrassing group of guys” and “not a very good football team” after Saturday’s win.

If Spurrier was still in Gainesville, you can bet he would have already yanked Driskel. It’s reached that point for Muschamp, whether he’s ready to accept it or not.

I keep seeing this being brought up as a statement saying we had a dominating running game and it's one of the reasons to criticize Driskel -- even though he made up 59 of those yards and his average was 4.9 vs. 1.9 and 2.8 or something abysmal like that.

Never occurred I guess that Boom doesn't have a qb to replace Driskel yet and the last thing you wanna do is tear down the only building in town.

As far as the OL...I like to think of myself as somewhat knowledgable of OL play...had a close friend who played OL at UF under Ray Graves in the sixties and we watched a few Gator games together in the stands...he could pick apart details. Our OL didn't play that well. It was fair but Bama constantly had folks in Driskels face and worse of all we had no push against a young (but talented) DL. We also had the same problem against UK and only late in the game did we finally wear them out to allow rushing yds to be gained easier. I thought UK just had a brickwall defense but Im seeing a trend.

Thurman is serviceable but wouldn't start for most SEC teams honestly. Trenton is out of position at OG but he isn't quick enough to play OT at an elite level....but he has the huge frame that makes him more suited for OT....not many 6'8" OGs around. Our best players right now are Garcia and Green. Humphries is good but is one year away from dominating...Sharp is going to take someones job away soon....but it might be in 2015 after Green leaves. Tyler Moore doesn't impress me that much and I know folks who played with him in high school.
The real truth is this: Boom took over and he HAD to recruit defense as a priority for a couple of years and I agree with his strategy...it worked out well in 2012. But he now has shifted to offense to compensate for the lack of OL recruited and one good one was an OG who was kicked off team. Our numbers are bad and it may continue if we don't recruit our azz off and make it priority # 1. We need 15 OL on shollys.
