Alabama's offense vs Florida's defense.

Florida's defense is loaded with talent and I wanted to see how they would handle Bama's running game. I was interested because I thought that game would tell us something about how our offense might fare against Florida. Now, I'm not so sure it did, because Alabama sent a very effective message early on, "we're not one dimensional". Once Florida's defense got that message, Bama's running game had plenty of room to operate. Great strategy by Lane Kiffen, but I'm not sure that we can do what Bama did on offense.

What? Throw a few 9 routes when they show man?

Will have JSW and possibly Mitchell back by them. Should add to the versatility.

Yep, few teams, even Alabama with ultra-talented OL's, aren't going to be able to run against an equally talented DL that loads the box. Kiffin basically went around the DL by rolling out Sims with pass options that substituted for the running game. Florida did the same thing against Ohio St. in that NCG. Once the defense/LB's are forced to cover the outside it looses up the running game up the middle. But Alabama still finished with twice as much passing yardage vs rushing yardage. Sims is looking like a damn good mobile QB; something Bama hasn't had in a long time.

do you mean 'run' or run between the tackles?

Pretty much but if a good defense is loading the box you likely won't be able to run much off tackle either. It forces you to shift the offense outside with either runs or passes. It's basically the take what they give you fundamentals.
This is why I love a mobile QB who can quickly roll outside with options to pass, pitch out or run himself as needed. Play-action can be effective against a loaded box defense if you have a good pass blocking OL and a tall QB with a strong arm who can make accurate passes down-field stretching the defense which is why these type QB's are a premium in the NFL.

With the speed and vision of our backs, I wonder if against a tough D line, we would be better off "pass blocking" and creating seams even if behind the line of scrimmage than trying to blow them off of the line. Then let our backs work against the secondary.

Florida still sucks.
If you take away the 2 lucky defensive touchdowns Florida scored and add a touchdown to Alabama that they could have scored, the score should have been 49-7.
And I think Georgia is better than Alabama.
