I hate Texas but I like Coach Strong since he is a family friend.

He took the wrong job. The old angry white racists (Jamail, McCombs, etc.) will never let him do what he needs to do to succeed and if they haven't turned on him now, they will after Baylor and Oklahoma.

He's also taken the wrong approach to recruiting Texas. You can't possibly go after two coaches (Sumlin and Briles) who are entrenched in the minds of the H.S. football coaches and have assistants with strong roots when you don't have any ties at all.

Bringing your coordinators from Louisville is nice, but you MUST have strong Texas recruiters on your staff as assistant coaches and he's already behind Sumlin, Briles, Stoops, Gundy, Patterson, and Kingsbury in building relationships.

Insightful post.

It's baked in the cake that Strong will ultimately fail.
