The last time Miles coaches a college football game will be a very sad day for LSU and college football as a whole. Really hope our team can muster up another natty before he calls it quits, he definitely deserves it.

Miles is definitely quirky but you don't compile the record he has, especially in the SEC, without knowing what you're doing. With the exception of the 2011 BCS title game, I can't think of a single time that LSU hasn't shown up. Not many teams you can say that about.

He needs to get one more, it would solidify him as a great coach and character in college football lore.

One of those is not like the other.

Les gets crap because he followed the BEST coach in LSU history

Saban at LSU is not the same Saban that bama has. At LSU he lost less than 3 games one time.

I think Nick was a good coach at LSU but he wasn't GREAT... I think what made Nick into a great coach was his failure at the Dolphins. I think that experience tempered him. Les, on the other hand, has become tempered and a great coach here. Les and Nick are polar opposites, and TBH I like Les better.

I freaking love Les. He is up there with Joe Kines, Mike Leach, and Snyder, as best post-game interviewer in the land.

I love Sumlin, but would take Miles in a second. Not saying it would happen.

Les has been at lsu for 9 seasons and has led his teams to 10+ wins in 7 of those. Two SEC championships and a NC.

That is consistent success. How many other coaches currently out there can lay claim to those numbers? It is a very small group.

Except LSU keeps beating Auburn, and they have beaten T A&M both times they have played them, yet the media love high flying offenses. If you have a conservative offense, the experts claim you have no offense.

I love Les Miles. He cares about the game. He cares about the coaches. But most importantly he builds his teams into families. Win or lose, that's what it's all about. The one thing that frustrates most LSU fans (and even me sometimes) is not winning games by huge numbers. A lot of the other SEC schools hang 60 points on chump teams but Les is settled on just 14-0. Which at the end of the day a W is a W I don't get concerned if LF or Jennings wins a Heisman. I don't care how flashy it is. I love wins. And I love the environment he brings. Plus he is a sly mofo.

UGA and LSU are virtually the same program. LSU has just had more luck with the BCS.

I agree with those who praise CLM. I think he is the best coach in LSU Football history. That being said, I will go to my grave believing the the BCS game was thrown. Vegas odds changed dramatically in the days right before kickoff, and there was an absolutely bizarre series of plays that could of come from the Black Sox.

You're right, a large percentage of the contributors on the Rant DO believe he is underachieving and we would be better off with any number of other coaches. These same clowns also think the backup quarterback should be starting (regardless of who it is), ______ should getting more carries, why aren't we throwing to _____ more often, can you believe the defense let _____ get X number of yards, never mind the shutout. This percentage of the fanbase will NEVER be happy! NEVER! They rejoice in their misery and aren't happy unless bitching about something.
Thankfully, this part of the fanbase is in the distinct minority. The more rational fans among us realize and appreciate what Miles and his staff have accomplished. Thankfully, Miles realizes this as well. He understands that there is always the lunatic fringe and I think he secretly kinda enjoys the rantings of the rantards.
Enjoy the game, it should be a great one!
