Trade the coaches. Do you think one game Miles would have "out coached" Mullen if he were the one at State? No.
We're catching up slowly but surely, but the talent level has not been close in prior years.

We do know that Mullen wouldn't have lost to Ole Miss last year.

November 10, 2012 Baton Rouge, LA LSU 37–17 - 20 point margin
October 5, 2013 Starkville, MS LSU 59–26 - 33 point margin
Sure seems that way to me...

Do I think that Les at State would have won division games over teams other than Ole Miss and downtrodden Arkansas and Auburn teams? Yes.
ETA: I doubt I'll change your mind, State can keep Mullen's supposed coaching brilliance for all the shits I give, but until he actually proves it by beating LSU you're going to have a hard time finding that validation you're looking for. Les owns his arse. DWI

I don't think people are understanding the premise of the question.
Sigh.
Guess I should have made up another stupid thread instead of a decent question.

Miles was 28-21 and 500 in conference at OSU and I'd say that's an easier job than MSU. They were starting to get some of that Pickens money when he was there and they were in the Big 12. Mullen is 39-28 and 16-24 in conference at MSU. That's the best way to objectively compare them and it's a lot closer than LSU fans would probably like to admit

That is a fair comparison, and I think Mullen should get a shot at a major program. I'm giving the OP a hard time because he layered his question in poorly disguised flames.

Les Miles beat Oklahoma, with a middle of the road team, Mullen never has upset anyone. A sign of superior coaching. OU was ranked in the top 5 both years.
Miles took OSU to shite bowls his last three years, so he could also do that at MSU.
Mullen has never won a game of any significance.

It wasn't really a flame, I just think Mullen would excel at a big time program because of his business like approach. He's not a rah rah guy, which you kind of need at a smaller program sometimes.
In the same breath, I think Miles has some of the rah rah qualities when he needs it, which would probably do well at State.

Congrats on completely ignoring the logic in my post and responding with your own biased opinion

LSU has a much higher ceiling bc of resources and recruiting advantages.
MSU has won the west before, but LSU has been to SECCG many times.
I think Miles would do about the same or maybe a little better at MSU than Mullen.
Mullen would not do better than Miles has at LSU.
Franklin or somebody like him could take MSU to another level- maybe.
MSU is tough, but historically they are not Big 6 material.

I logically replied. I objectively stated. I didn't do childish shite like refer to the coach at LSU as Less. So how's about you just stfu now

i would not trade either of mine. But Richt makes me mad as hell with his stubbornness.

Then why don't you get yourself a cowbell, partner!

I do not think Mullen would have the same success at LSU that Miles has had. I don't think Mullen would've been able to recruit as well as Miles has and the other SECW teams would be raiding LA worse than they are now.

This troll thread was hatched by the OP in the grind thread on the MSU board a couple of days ago.
