Lets hope they don't have a flag at Commonwealth. This was awarded retroactively a yr or so later after State was found to have used ineligible players so they 'tied' Georgia.

So...Didn't Kentucky have 2 conference losses that year while Georgia only had 1? Also, Bama was 5-2 in conference while Kentucky, Florida and MSU were all 4-2. Why wouldn't Georgia have been the outright champion?

After the forfeits were imposed on MSU in '78, UK retroactively declared themselves SEC champs for '76. The SEC didn't immediately comment on the situation (not sure that they ever did--does UK have an official SEC trophy on display for that season? ...If so, then they have every right to claim it...otherwise, while the SEC didn't initially consider UK as champs, a couple of generations have passed since then, so perhaps some of the younger staff at the SEC offices may have listed UK as '76 champs unaware that the SEC at the time wasn't too keen on giving UK the retro-title).

Here's an article on the confusion: LINK

I guess that Arky should be able to claim the '93 SEC West title since Bama forfeited its games. Same exact situation...
