I ordered two cases the day it came out. I have been keeping up with the Surge movement for a while so this was big news for me. Tasting that drink will surely bring back my highschool days in the nineties. Long hair ,longjohn undershirt , flannel shirt and my Doc Martins.

I checked the afternoon that it came out and they were sold out. So mad.

Good news is that if Coke is happy with sales they will bring it back to store shelves as a permenant fixture.

Did you come to Camp Shelby in July for the Combined Arms live fire?

We were working at AUX1 Airfield doing ATC stuff. We had the TAG and Phil Bryant out there. We have a new system called the MOTS (Mobile Tower System) and we're the first stateside unit to have it (that includes Big Army) so they wanted to come look at the shiny equipment.

We had to go through 155's fuggin road block every morning, though.

You've gotten some good advice so far, so I'll just add that your apprehension is normal, your service is necessary and appreciated and you'll look back on the experience as one you wouldn't trade for all the money in the world.

Oh, and it'll suck buckets of camel dicks. Good Luck and Godspeed.

We find a way to gay up everything bro..

I got a close view of an apache doing a tactical ammo load on one of the range roads. Pretty neat. I've done a tremendous amount of work with apaches on the ground as a 13F in Iraq, but never saw one reload on ammo so that was kinda cool.

Fact.

To have been in an Aviation MOS for 6 years it's embarrassing how little I know about aircraft other than how fast or slow they are because that's all that affects my traffic pattern.

We actually had some guys from my unit on ADSW orders at range control for a while until recently. They were working flight following for mostly the UASes there and any other aircraft that flew into the ROZ there. State cut that funding, though.

We'll be back around in December for some pre-mob stuff. We're doing a lot of MUTAs all together to use them all up before we strike out.

@Hazmoo - yeah we're still here. Wifey has another 2 years of residency before we have to move elsewhere for her fellowship. You leaving for UCF soon?

Yeah it would just be smarter to be around all of my friends and have a place to stay. Plus I will finish school almost debt free. If I went to UCF I would be drowned in debt Doesn't hurt being close to home too I guess. Things could change though

Well whatever works, man. Just be sure you get a useful degree and not fricking English. Else you'll end up like me.

Which I'm married to a doctor so I guess it's not that bad.

ETA - I definitely get staying close to home, though. I couldn't take being 8 hours away in Fort Worth when I was working out there. Glad to move back closer. We've both always been close with our families, though.

I'm doing Aerospace Engineering. If that doesn't work out I'm becoming a DJ and moving to Los Angeles
