Ahhh, that makes sense. Did Jackson or such not have a stadium for that capacity?

Ole miss played LSU in Memorial Stadium several times as well. Ease of travel for both parties was a huge bonus. It's about 2-3 hours from both Oxford and BR. Not sure about State. Vaught Hemingway Stadium didn't reach a capacity of 34,500 until 1950. So 1951 was the first time since 1927 that Ole Miss hosted LSU in Oxford.
