They should've gone +2 to start with for the playoffs. The Top 8 teams. You could even work in something where the Power5 Champions are represented and then 3 At Large/Wild Card teams.
Of course then we'd have 3 SEC Teams in the Playoffs every year, and the other conferences would be pissed off. However, that provide for a more honest playoff that actually has the best teams.
