I mean seriously, it's complete and utter bullshite.
Prove it if you disagree.

ALGORE made it up to get rich
ETA: Let me rephrase, he took data and made it say what he wanted it to say so that he could get rich.

V&S, the science has spoken, whether or not it's being backed up with data.

The Arab Oil Barons that fund Al Qaeda support this thread.

Global warming in itself is of course real.
NASA
The earth has always gone through overall cooling and warming cycles. Whether or not it is caused by man is unprovable, due to the incredible age and size and constant climatic shifts of the earth, and the vastly differing techniques for measuring some sense of "overall" temperature in relation to time.
Thus, any clear data for man's cause can be argued against and "disproven." It's a constant cycle of scientific oneupmanship, because the whole issue is too big and our techniques are too small. The political nature of the matter and the fact that most research is government funded turns the whole thing into a scam. The idea that we should be basing public policy and taxation on it is lunacy. I think it touches on a larger issue of the deification of scientists. Scientists are only smarter, not better people. Believe me. In fact I would argue in certain ways they are worse.

From NASA.
"Global Warming" refers to Ocean Temperature.

I always flip flop on the issue of the cause of global warming, but global warming definitely exists

Heating and cooling is cyclical. But Al Gore doesn't get rich from normal climate changes.

I don't agree with global warming, but I do think there is climate change. More catastrophic weather events, droughts, etc. I can't help but think the human population has a part in it with our overall disregard for the environment, but we're not the only, and not really the main factor.

It's absolutely real.
The question is why, how, and extent.

Obviously caused by magma, end of thread

It's most unfortunate that the topic of global warming has completely shadowed over concerns for the environment.
Pollution, deforestation and overpopulation have faded into the background as global warming has become a political movement. Leftists and right wingers care more about jousting than they do about exploring the effects of human societies on the earth.
We are, in effect, shitting where we eat. The earth is finite and our abuse of it can only have a limited run.

It isnt a hoax, the world is definitely getting warmer. The question is whether or not we are the primary force driving it and, if so, is there anything we can realistically do about it.

I'm no climatologist But it seems there is some warming going on. The earth has natural fluctuations but human development is at the least exacerbating the changes. The only way I see humans continuing long term is to think our way out and colonize other planets. If we don't do this fairly soon I see a lot of species dying out. There is just too much growth even if the environment stays exactly the same. You can't keep a dirt poor person from cutting down a patch of rainforest and starting a farm to feed their family.

Pollution is real. The greenhouse effect is real. Humans putting tons of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere obviously alters it. This isn't some voodoo science. I am a petroleum engineer. My livelihood depends on oil and gas. I also have read the data and reports and methodology and why 99% of scientists agree. Man made global warming has been going on for 8,000 years since we cultivated rice that sends methane in to the air. The Industrial Revolution was even more dramatic. I don't think taxing the rich and forcing people to go green when it isn't economical does anything good for it.
I hate whiney environmentals as much as the next guy but I'm not in the business of denying science out of convenience. And that's what weak people do. It's what liberals do to basic economic principle and it's what conservatives do to science.
And the whole debate disgusts me. We should figure out how to fix it instead of blaming the opposition or denying reality to spite the opposition. The willingness to solve issues used to make this country great. Now we have Boehner as Obama running this country in to the ground because morons like the people in this thread won't agree with anything that would ever come close to exposing their biases and ignorancea. It's as if you can't even FATHOM that those whiney liberals feeling vindicated even for a moment. It's almost as bad as the anti-vaccine shite or people that whine about their college loans.
