We missed a FG from about 35 yards. Later in the year we missed an extra point and a shorter FG that lost the UK game. Had we made the 2 FG, we would have finished the regular season at 6-6, and we would have kept Croom and Woody McCorvey.

The game was a really hard hitting game. The D's on both teams really played very well. It was an offensive shite show, but the D's on both teams do deserve a lot of credit for the outcome.

That was my first SEC game as a student at state...I'll never forget it. I was hot and super shitfaced. I'll never forget some kid with an auburn flag and a rod rigged up the flag and lit it on fire and was waving it in the stands

I specifically remember the long walk back to my apartment...hearing both fan bases bitch about their offensive coordinators at their tailgate spots.

Sitting in the stands with my now wife. I broke her cowbell in frustration and was hoping Josh Ridell could check into the game. Once we lost, I went to the tailgate and shotgunned beers, then passed out on the soccer field on my way home.

A member of the grounds crew woke me the morning when he took my cell phone and dialed the last number I called in my phone... Which was my mom.

I drove down from Oxford to attend that game with my bud who went to State.

Wendi Nix was the sideline reporter and was wearing white pants, which is, obviously, a faux pas in mid-September.

Nonetheless, the cat calls were decent, the booze flowed freely, and the abundant.

Auburn ran that stupid, prairie dog offense with Tony Franklin then
