He said the SEC Champ will get in no matter what

He then went onto say if the SEC Champ is undefeated and beats an undefeated division champ in Atlanta, that team should get in too.

The example he gave was 12-0 Georgia beating 12-0 Texas A&M in the SEC Title Game. Both teams would get into the playoff.

Then he said what if another SEC team goes 11-1 and is lurking. Like Alabama whose only loss was Texas A&M, but beat LSU and Ole Miss on the road. No way does an 11-1 SEC team get left out.

He said in this scenario 3 teams get in. He doesn't see an undefeated team in the Big 10 or Big 12, and likely not in the Pac-12 either, so the Playoff would be Georgia, A&M, Alabama, Florida State.

None of those teams is going undefeated because they all play Auburn.

This would be too incredible to believe if it were based on polls. With the new 13 member committee, you can let this one go.

This will not happen. The college football world would go apeshit over that scenario. In fact people wouldn't like to see two SEC teams in the playoffs.

Gregory is talking out of his arse.

Why even bother worrying about this until the scenario plays out?

Need an 8 team playoff. This scenario will have to happen a few times with only one sec team getting in and that will lead to an 8 team playoff

SEC will not get 3 teams in. Plus SEC will be beating up on each other, doubt if 2 gets in.

Could you imagine if that happened and Florida State won it all?

The only scenario I can see where two SEC teams get in is:

2 undefeated teams meet in the regular season and in the SEC championship. (Auburn and Georgia for example).

Both are split, very close games.

Other conference's heavy weights lose, have a bad loss, or have their schedule become unimpressive.

Scenario: Auburn beats LSU, LSU beats Bama, and Bama beats Auburn. All three finish regular season 11-1, with any one of those winning the SEC champ game. There are no undefeated teams left, do all three get in? If 2 get in how do you justify leaving the 3rd team out?

Deserve has nothing to do with it.

One reason the BCS formula went away was to prevent a nightmare scenario of 3 SEC teams being in the top 4.

Getting 2 SEC teams will be a stretch, it will happen sometimes, but not often.

3 will never ever ever happen, period. Even if they are by far the best 3 teams in the country.

A lot of the national media are hinting that the future will just have the winners from the power conferences in a playoff, like the NFL, yet the NFL has 14 teams in the mix and the divisions are a little m!ore equal. The college conferences will never be as equal.
