How many yards did we get on those passes?

A lot.

Thanks to the receivers.

So what is wrong with him doing that if it was the right decision that ultimately led to a lot of success? Do what works, take what the defense gives you. Seems like a good plan.

I agree with both of you. He is doing what is asked of him. Like I said, they aren't asking him to do a whole lot. He seems to be confident and in control which I like. His success is mostly due to some sick plays by the wide receivers though.

Coker obviously had some rust Saturday, but it was his first playing time. You could see it though with the way Saban reacted when Coker messed up. He acted like he used to when AJ McCarron would mess up. He was all over him. I think he is grooming Coker to be the man by UF.

If you're talking about what happened at the end of the first half, that's a big leap to make. Players screw up, CNS goes nuts. I've seen him be just as upset on a specials teams' miscue by Fulton

I'm just saying, I get the feeling that they want Coker to win the job because of his upside. I think they want him to be the guy. They brought him in to be the guy. Saban just wants to see him earn it.

God I hope not. We are in some trouble if Coker is the one throwing against that UF secondary.

If I were Kiffin, I'd take Cooper out of the game against Southern Miss after we're up 14-0 or so. Cooper is the best WR in the nation but I don't want either QB to use him as a crutch. I felt like McElroy would sometimes waste a play because Julio wasn't open.

And you think that Sims bubble screens are the answer? Jump one of those routes and it's a pick six. The answer against UF is neither qb's passing game. If we rely on the pass against uf we are in a world of trouble no matter who is under center. We have to establish and dominate with the running game.

We will not win the SEC with WR screens. Nothing against Blake... he has played well up to now. But if we are going to have success, we have to throw the ball verticle. Our run game will suffer as well. I would have liked to see LK take some time Saturday to let Sims throw the ball more down field. He seems to have the arm to do it as he has made some nice throws... even if some were dropped. If he can't go verticle with success, then put Coker in and let him. I would rather take Coker now if there isn't that much seperation. He has an extra year with us... why not let him go now?

You play the best quarterback now. Playing a different guy because he is with the team for another year is absolutely ridiculous. You want Sims out that badly? Some of you have lost your minds.

I agree. I don't think next year should matter right now. Play the best guy. I just happen to think that Coker could be the best guy with some more reps.

You don't need a plan to crush FAU. Everything will work against them.

No, i think that because I watched Coker play on Saturday, and he did not look good. He looked lost, and he didnt look like he knew where to throw the ball. I can see him throwing multiple picks against UF's secondary.

Furthermore, to say that Sims only can throw bubble screens is very ignorant.

And the obvious choice to coordinate this gameplan is #6. After watching both run the offense, it seems plain as day.

Because he does not give us the best chance to win. Period.

The biggest question with Sims is why didn't Kiffin call more long bombs? He did so with Coker, and he had a few with Sims, but why was there more of a focus for Coker to go deep and not Sims? Is it possible that this was designed to mask his weakness as a deep threat.

Sure, Coker struggled, but he had better stats than McCarron did versus similar competition (kent state). You can't deny that there were moments that Coker showed absolute brilliance. If you think Sims could throw that pass that connected to Ardarius Stewart just as well as Coker did then you didn't watch the same game. I know you like Sims a lot, but that isn't a reason to discredit everything Coker brings to the table.

I literally just heard Saban in his presser say that we run plays based on what the defense gives us, and that is the reasoning behind the play calls. Why do one thing when the other thing has a much better success rate?
You are looking way too much into that.

And when did Coker show "absolute brilliance?" lmfao

And if you don't think Sims could have made the pass to Stewart then YOU haven't been watching the games.

If you wouldn't call that perfect pass to Stewart a moment of brilliance then you are incapable of any objectivity.

A pass to an open WR against a gassed FAU?

It was a good throw, no doubt, but we clearly have two different definitions of the word "brilliant".
