I agree. I think coach has thought this through and it might force Florida to gameplan for multiple offenses.

I understand it, but if Sims is 100% our guy then I'd rather he get 95% of the reps both in practice and against Southern Miss. In game decision making, practice calling plays in the huddle, contested long passes, dealing with defensive pressure, practice managing the clock are all more valuable to a starter than keeping Muschamp in the dark IMO, but my opinion and five dollars will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks

I think Saban is using the no starter to keep both qbs motivated and also to give himself an out. All we heard in the spring was how much Sims improved. Then we saw a-day and even Saban claimed that Sims regressed from his previous performance all spring. Now we are seeing Blake Sims improve steadily through fall camp and into game action. Will we see the same regression when Sims is pressured? What will happen to Sims' composure when he meets Fowler firsthand? What will happen to him if, God forbid, we get behind by a couple scores? These are things nobody, including our coaches, know because it must be experienced to be known. Saban is known to be faithful to his qb through thick and thin (and there were plenty of thin times when McElroy was under center ) Maybe Saban isn't fully ready to commit to a starter until he can see for himself how Sims handles in game pressure.
