If Sims has done everything perfectly as you say, why didn't CNS take the opportunity to name him the starter today? Before you say it's because of the fans/media, Saban gives zero fricks what we think. If he did he would've signed his contract sooner, benched Vinnie in favor of Landon, etc.

Could it be that the coaching staff is waiting to see how Blake responds to UF?

Did I say he did everything perfectly or everything he was asked??

Also, I realize you feel Saban could give zero fricks but Saban isn't a fool. He knows damn well how sensitive this QB situation is to our fanbase and media. I think he doesn't want to announce Sims because he like always is trying to control the situation. Coker is going to be here two seasons. There is no point destroying the guy (doesn't seems the strongest mentally) when he knows he will need him next season. This season he just is not ready.

Oh and....

- He didn't bench Vinnie for Landon, because Vinnie like Sims was balling. Why bench the better in-form player?

- You can't compare a safety situation to the QB situation in terms of media and fan reaction. QB is a different position, the leadership position and it has a stereotype for blacks who play it. The same can not be said for safety.

Nick Saban is in a position where he doesn't have to name a starter in public. This leaves doubt for any team that is preparing to play us. In our situation, I think it's a pretty good strategy.
