things change.

Yes, they do. But the fact that things change does not preclude us from the very rational conclusion that winning one conference is DRASTICALLY more difficult than winning another. There has to be some balance for any of this to make sense.

Even in the NCAA tourney, while they let the champions of minor conferences in, they do not seed them in the same spots as power conference winners. A 16 team playoff where winning the MAC or Sun Belt gives you the same standing as winning the Pac 12 or SEC...that is just not acceptable. You have to either re-align conferences or find a system that does not give you equal standing for beating a schedule of nobodies.

Yes I agree, I think that is what Tiger Live2 was getting at. Ok so the top 8 conferences and 4 At-large

How say you to that Crimson Legend?

They wouldn't have the same standing, they would be seeded 1:16, 2:15, 3:14...8:9.

Chances are that the smaller non-Power5 would get the lowest seeds, therefore would likely lose in the first round - also giving the top teams a virtual automatic advance to the quarter-finals.

Ultimately, there is no better way to determine a champions from so many teams in so many conferences. There is NO WAY to remove bias using any kind of polling/computer/beauty pageant type system.

People who want wild-card at large bids are just scared their team won't cut the muster and want a second chance.

You know who doesn't ask for second chances?

Winners.
