The huge problem with this is that you are giving the same chance to a team winning a pathetic conference as you do to a team winning the toughest conference.

As long as the conferences are drastically unbalanced, a fair playoff cannot be created.

the mountain west was considered a shitty conference 15 years ago. the wac was considered a shitty conference 15 years ago.

So you really think if say a ULM wins their conference and is paired up with a conference champion Alabama in the first round of the play offs, ULM has an equal shot at the title?
