I prefer a playoff system that gives a team two chances to get in. all other sports give teams two chances. your scenario gives them only one.

for example:

12 conf. champs
4 at large

this way...if you don't win the conference, you can still get in as an at large. OR, if you lose to a shitty team outside of conference, your season is not over yet and you still can get in with a conf. title. ala basketball.

TWO CHANCES!!!!

The huge problem with this is that you are giving the same chance to a team winning a pathetic conference as you do to a team winning the toughest conference.

As long as the conferences are drastically unbalanced, a fair playoff cannot be created.

So, you are opposed to the playoff systems that the NFL, NBA, MLB, etc. have been using for decades?

Its apples and oranges. No college sport has a pro style playoff. They all use seedings and a selection committee.

Aren't there only 10 now? 6 at large is too many. That's why I said 12 teams, with 8 conference champs. That way the Sun Belt and C-USA champs are still left out.(or whoever)

Yeah, because even if they fail they should pass so we don't hurt their self-esteem.

Maybe we should just vote for EVERYBODY to be champions at the end of the year and sit in a circle and sing Kumbaya.
