If you were an NFL owner and had to pick an SEC coach right now

Factor in everything - experience, age, everything.
I think Saban and Spurrier are too old at this point, and they and Miles both seem to be much more suited to the college game. Most of the other coaches haven't proven enough, so you're left with trying to get someone whose potential ceiling is worth the risk.
Sumlin or Malzahn? I would go with Sumlin, taking everything into account.

It would be hilarious to watch Leslie coach in the National Football League, so him.

Bert... he already has NFL size.

Sumlin is the better coach, but I don't think either coach would be successful in the NFL

NFL teams are already offering Sumlin jobs.

Same age as Pete Carroll

OP, just rename this thread who is a better coach. Gus or Sumlin. That's what is going to happen here.

Aubs, there is no need to be upset.

Sumlin will be jumping ship to the NFL after this year, so that should answer your question.

Rumor was Cleveland Browns already tried to get Gus last Dec but he wasn't interested.

Are these the only choices?

I would take Vanderbilt's coach. Picking a winning coach for the NFL is a crapshoot and I might as well pick somebody I can pay bottom dollar for.

Jerry Jones likes both so he'll likely answer this question for you after this season.

Honestly, I would take Mark Richt. He seems shitty at the whole recruiting side of things but I would assume is the most intelligent coach in the league. It's all about managing at that level, and I think he does it better than the rest.
He also looks the part of an NFL coach, which is the most important criteria.
