Sure, but a "perfect" diet that allows for the absolute best physical condition is not necessary to be healthy and avoid hypertension, diabetes, certain cancers, heart disease, etc.

We're not on the same page, not the first time, won't be the last time.

Walking out the door, but I'm not talking about a perfect diet.

I'd elaborate and explain but have a game I'm late for, explaining things that involve slight contradictions and full circle thinking takes a lot of time when talking to a one dimensional thinker.

*Why erase your hard work? Spent the time, might as well leave it up.

Also it's creepy that you keep liking your own posts immediately after you post them.

I actually agree with both of you to a degree.

Cutting them out entirely is unlikely and not necessary. If you told me that I'll add 5 years to my life by never eating a burger from Whataburger/Sonic/5 guys/Smash again, I'd choose to forfeit those 5 years. Plain and simple.

Doing all that you can to eliminate those additive is a very good idea but not essential to being healthy.

I actually don't consider Paleo a fad, maybe as done by crossfitters, but saying, eat whatever you want, just cut out extra sugar and ingredients not found in nature was life 100 years ago. Not a fad.

Agreed, the difference between 80 and 85 isn't worth it.

I'm gonna kill her.

Today was Baptist wife's first day back at school for the Christian preschool she works at. She was late getting our son to soccer practice that I coach.

When I got home there was a route 44 orange cream slush untouched in the kitchen. Apparently one of her students knew that was her favorite and brought it.

I've been in the sun. Haven't eaten happy food in 2 days and it's sitting there. I just literally am within 3 feet of the thing and she comes barreling in there and says it's for the kids and not to touch.

I swear, in that moment I could have said I slept with one of the soccer moms and caught less wrath.

Then I went and grilled grass fed organic burgers (it was delicious, but that's not the point) and ate it with spinach and onions.

Until you're 79 and wondering where the last 40 years went.

If you haven't accomplished at least a significant portion of your life goals by 80, another five years probably isn't gonna make a difference.

that depends - if you want to see your grandchild get married it might make a lot of difference.

So a week in now.

I'm down about 8 lbs. My wife and the couple doing this are about in the same boat.

The first week was mainly the lack of approved snacks and non bland food in the house. And I haven't had anything other than coffee and water for over a week.

Baptist wife went to trader Joe's and spent a ridiculous amount of money (hungry, don't care) in Austin and got a lot of extra snacks and meats that are orgrassfednic and it has made a huge difference. We had chicken sausage with eggs the other night and I was so happy I cried because if felt full for the first time in a long time. We also found a naked juice with no additives that I chug religiously.

We also haven't eaten out in 9 days which is pretty fantastic, because I eat on the road religiously.

2 takeaways:

-Organic Grassfed free range cowchikpig is a huge difference in taste and after meal feelings. Most of the other "requirements" I can drop after 30 days, I really don't want to start buying the other crap meat afterwards.

- I take out the trash and wash dishes every day. I usually run 2-3 loads a week and take 1-2 bags out. Most of that is probably not eating out, but I feel like that's the tradeoff.

I can't lie. I feel fantastic from sun up to sun down.

Cograts on the first week.

I just had some glorious Fried catfish, hush puppies, home made slaw, Cajun fries and fried okra.

Finished it off with some homemade vanilla ice cream.

Hope I wake up tomorrow, got bills due.
