Agreed. Putting LSU's abortion of a QB in front of the league's best QB is pretty funny.

Kenny Hill is a system QB

Our backup is #1. Things look good on the plains for years to come.

I know Gus would never do this but I think Auburn would be a better team with a 2 QB system where Johnson is the starter and is the thrower then Marshall comes in as the wildcat/read option QB. I think it gives defenses a lot more to prepare for.

The system that scores touchdowns with great passes to talented receivers? Yes, a hell of a system.

But what does that have to do with LSU's "abortion of a QB" bring ranked higher than Nick Marshall, who wasn't even on the list?

Here's how well these quarterbacks did against the vaunted Venables defense of the Clemson Tigers last year.

Connor Shaw 53%
Jameis Winston 64.7%
Braxton Miller 66.6%
Aaron Murray 68.9%

Last night:

Hutson Mason 69.2%

Yall go eff yourselves.

QB Rating is the great QB equalizer, so if you dink and dunk it 40 times a game vs. someone who completes less than half that but is much more efficient it evens things out

Wow how is Kenny Hill that low?

Dink and dunk passing attack

8.4 yards per attempt is rather low compared to the top half of the list

QB Rating is an efficiency measure.

Hutson Mason - 5.0 yards per attempt

Did he even complete a downfield pass?

We didn't really pass much at all so it' hard to judge Mason relative to everyone else on the list.

Mason had as many or more pass attempts than 5 people on the list, that's not it.

Yes, but they were mostly short to mid-level passes when he did throw. The two long throws he made netted pass interference calls on Clemson. Two others I can think of were swing passes to the Isaiah McKenzie and Keith Marshall that were flat dropped.

Let's be real: the game plan only required Mason to throw when necessary/when the throws were available. As Richt said post game, Mason was solid but not spectacular. IMO he could have done a better job calling audibles to take advantage of some wide arse open middles of the field Clemson offered at various times, but that's really the only criticism I can come up with. He's not Murray, he took care of the ball, and he did his part on most all of his passes.

Almost 70% completion rate and top 2 WR were out......doubtful someone stops our rushing attack AND the play action pass......

Must have 15 or more pass attempts to qualify.

You are obviously on a stat page, so you tell me?

Don't be coy.

I'm not saying he's better than Kenny Hill, at this point I think Hill is the best in the conference.

I'm saying he's not second-to-worst as reflected in that OP list.
