The only thing that Coker has on Sims is arm strength... that's it.

Size is NOT a talent.

Sims arm strength is very good. He's quicker and faster. His pocket instincts are obviously better... he's actually shown the most pocket awareness I've seen by a Bama QB.

Blake just became the best 1st time starter ever and he still can be better. Imagine if he wasn't splitting starter reps with Jake. Maybe all the confusion would have been non existent or at least to a minimum.

Coker does not give us the best chance to win a championship. I think that's pretty clear. I'm sure there's still some hope that Blake somehow falls on his face to give Coker the job but, that's not likely to happen.

Looking forward to a great season with Sims as our leader. #16 is on the way.

Kind of a big deal

The NFL draft would disagree

Practice reps? There is probably a reason. Probably the same reason Saban thought about pulling Blake in the 2nd quarter and why we will likely see them split reps in the games leading up to Florida.

Based on? He took 2 snaps against WVU.

And I will be fully behind him.

The job likely isn't decided yet and won't be for a few weeks. Your statements about Coker don't really have much backing unless you've been watching practice.

We won't come close to a championship with Sims.

You know this how?

He also has some of the best skill players ever. He threw a lot of underneath passes where Coop and White padded his stats.

If you think that UF, LSU, and AU are going to give those short passes to Blake then I don't know what to tell you.

I like Sims. He's been a good team player, but he's physically limited.

Sims could get us to 8-9 wins.

If I was happy with that, I would have gone to school in Athens, GA.

Define better. Sims has better chemistry and timing in the offense right now, and he's a better athlete. That's all we know for sure.

No, but you have to be able to see over all those 6'5" and 6'6" OL. Sims looked good vs WVU.

It's fine on short throws, which is very important in the WCO. But it took everything he had to throw that ball to Jones, and Jones was standing under it for a while.

He's quicker and faster

Yep.

His pocket instincts are obviously better

Nope. You can't say that because you haven't seen Coker take meaningful snaps with a first team OL.

I agree to an extent. I was very impressed by his work in the pocket.

He can still be better, but most of the work was done by Coop and Jones. Don't get me wrong, that is the design of our O.

You don't know that because he hasn't played yet.

You have no reason to think that. Especially since both Saban and Sims in their post game interviews made it out like the competition wasn't over.

No one fricking wants this. Everyone who has criticism doesn't have an agenda.

Sims is a 5th year senior who still needed a lot of help with the play calling. He's no McElroy who can hide a weak arm.

I thought he played very well. But what you saw is what you're going to get with him. That would be fine if we played the 100+ ranked defense in the nation every week. I like him. I think he's a great guy, and if he's the best we've got at QB, then he's the best we've got.

But he can't stretch the field. You can't run the ball if the safeties are at the line. Saban's whole offense depends on the threat of a deep ball.

So, Blake can do some good things, but he's not a complete QB. Can Coker do better? We don't know. I get the feeling Saban wants to find out. Coker's obvious problem is he just joined the program and can't run the offense fluidly. Is he a BETTER passer than Sims? We don't know. But, he's at least more of a threat to throw it down the field. That alone isn't enough to win either. But we don't know what else he can do yet.

We have as much talent at WR as we've ever had. Yet, some of you want to limit them to catching dink and dunk passes. A good downfield passing game opens up the run game.

And those of you calling people racist for hoping another QB can do better ARE the racists. There are racist Bama fans, but the VAST majority of us just want to win games. Seventy-five percent of the damned team is african-american. Nobody cares. But YOU guys want to make it into a race thing, and it's already started. I've heard it on the radio this morning. Do you think Saban cares about race? He's going to play the guy he thinks gives him the best chance of winning. That's all anyone wants.

Sims seems to be a better passer than McElroy and a better runner than McCarron. Bama won championships with both at the helm.

I think the talk about Coker is hyped up bc everyone said that the battle between he and Winston went down to the wire...so folks were/are hoping we would have a qb of similar caliber to Winston taking snaps, and they want to see what Bama could do with someone that talented back there.

Sims is better than Coker. If Coker was as good as advertised saban would have him starting now. Support sims.

The only thing I didn't like about Coker after Saturday was that every time the camera was on him, he was sitting on the bench, alone, not talking to anyone. I'd like to see him more hyped and in the game (even if he isn't playing)
