I still don't get this hire. Obviously Saban knows something I don't about Lane Kiffin, but I have no respect for Lane Kiffin. I have issues with his ability to make good decisions, be it football or whatever.

I just don't know what to make of this hire. On one hand, as an LSU fan, I like the hire because I think Kiffin is a giant back of vagina cleanser. On the other hand, I've never known Saban to make bone-headed decisions. Either Kiffin has pictures of Saban riding naked on Bobby Petrino's Harley, or Little Nicky has some inside knowledge.

I'm a little bit new here. How do I save posts like this so I can revisit them again from time to time?

Hiring kiffin is the first sign he is getting tired of that fanbase.

He knows that Kiffin has been a douche and is a bad head coach, but he's a great offensive mind and a good OC. People are too biased against Kiffin. I wouldn't invite him to my Christmas party, but he'd be on my shortlist of guys I want running my offense in CFB.

Plus out players love him already.

This seems like a thread that would have been made before the season started.

Lane was hired for two reasons.

1. Recruiting, lane is a players coach and very good on the recruiting trail. He's there to recruit offensive talent due to Sumlin and Gus.

2. Saban had issues with the team staying focused last year for a variety of reasons and Lane is there to help with that.

Its about time Saban does something at Bama so he can stop piggy back riding that one successful season at LSU.

Great recruiter, especially at the QB position, with national name recognition and ties to the SEC states and California: Check

Offensive Coordinator for one of the most dominant offenses in college football history: Check

Head coaching experience in the SEC, Pac 12, and NFL: Check

I believe he is qualified to be Alabama's offensive coordinator.

He knows he is a good offensive mind relative to the pro-style offense which Saban prefers. Saban obviously recognizes the advantage of the prolific offenses developed by Malzahn and Sumlin and he knows Bama needs more innovation on offense to keep pace. He's hoping Kiffin can fill that need. Personally, I don't like the hire because I think Kiffin brings more baggage than he is worth but apparently Saban is feeling a sense of urgency for improvement on offense and apparently thinks he can manage the baggage.

Kiffin has more knowledge about football in his excrement after chipotle night than you would in 3 lifetimes.

He wants to go back to the NFL, but he needs Lane to distract some of the firestorm.

bama fans can correct me if i'm wrong but their offense has not changed much at all during the times with any previous coordinators. Which tells me kiffin is going to call the plays in nick sabans offense. His primary job IMO is to recruit.
