I so badly want to discuss the possibility of being 7-0 and a near top 5 team going into the Bama game, but we need to get a lot better on defense and keep everyone healthy.

At least this year I have hope that we can make defensive improvements. There's a lot of players that I saw out there that are very coachable.

As for Howard Matthews, we need to train him just like I do my hunting dog. Electric collar to shock Jim when he creeps up to help the linebacker when his motherfrickin assignment is to play deep zone/cover.

Watts was a pleasant surprise.

Garrett was exactly what the coaches said - as good as advertised.

Hilliard will be a big loss hopefully he can get back before we get to some of the power offensive teams we will face.

I don't disagree. SafetySam thinks he should be moved to linebacker as he can obviously tackle. He made a bunch of good plays/tackles that I noticed. Unfortunately I don't think he can be spared from the secondary.

I still worry about the MS schools before Bama. OM didn't look great last night but they might be the best DL we face all year, and we always have great games with them

MSU is on the road and I think they could give our defense some problems. Neither of those games are givens. Both those teams could be better than USC when it's all said and done
