Offense put up 35 points, had Jones held onto the ball. All this while knowing that they had to score a TD on every possession just to stay in the game. I really can't fault them too much.

Yeah, the offense did fine I think and had to play from a 10+ point deficit almost the entire game.. that alone changes the game plan and forces us to into playing catch-up for far too long.

It was the secondary for me. The whole scheme was around a 3-4 defense so there were plenty of times when it was 3 DL vs 5 of their elite OL and sometimes an RB. That game plan alone was a disaster from the get go. With that said even on plays when A&M didn't need much time the secondary got blown up. They did nothing against screens and slants.

That brings up something that I didn't really understand. Why did the DBs not come up to the line and jam the receivers?? If aTm's offense is based on timing and speed, wouldn't that have helped in trying to create come confusion amongst their offense? I understand that the DBs are young, but it seemed like they were always playing 5-7 yards off.

Anyone with greater insight on this?
