We reaped what we've sown recruiting-wise. We had 3 DEs not make it into school (twice for Jhaustin Thomas) and now we've got a bunch of 2* nobodies who can't get pressure. This will be a season long issue. We also somehow put ourselves in the position of rotating multiple freshman at corner. And shite like this happens every year (LBs last year).

Aside from personnel concerns, this was one of the worst coaching performances I can ever remember by an SC staff. We looked like we hadn't practiced at all. The tackling was atrocious. The deep ball on 3rd and 1 w/ us fighting for our lives was infuriating. The constant drops from our WRs was brutal.

That defense will be lucky to get us to 7 wins. I get that things will get better and we can't possibly be this bad, but at the same time I saw so many BASIC BASIC BASIC mistakes last nite that I can't help but think negatively.

Did anyone feel like our guys were out of shape or had poor conditioning?

I watched some of the game last night, (I watched that 3rd and 1 call several times) but I actually didn't feel like our guys were that gassed. I felt like the conditioning was pretty good, especially for a defense that saw 99 plays. What stood out to me the most was just the lack of knowledge and poor form in the secondary rather than thinking our guys weren't physically able to get to the ball or that they were too tired.
