Help me out here and show me the bright spots because I'm not sure I see them.

Offense will be fine. Defense.....I have real issues with our d line play. Secondary was awful, but they are young. I think deke adams needs a pink slip he keeps it up

Umm, WR's were pretty good. Other than that I got nothing.

Thompson was sort of inefficient but it doesn't help when you're playing behind, have no running game to help, & the OLine not playing well.

Defensively, everythings pretty concerning. Couldn't get pressure, couldn't cover, & couldn't tackle in open space to save our lives.

We take it for what it is.... a arse whipping. The hype seemed unwarranted.... defense looked confused and scared all game... offense looked steady but shaken.... ground game was non existent. Offense line and run game which were sposed to be strenghts still missed assignments constantly... wilds looked good but didnt get ball enough.... our dbs... better grow up real quick.... cause is a rokkie can torch them this way then every game will be painful to watch...

Basically sc looked way worse than aTm looked good.

Tight ends looked good.

But Even the LBs were not impressive. I kept waiting for a batted ball or something.

One thing that hurt us tonight was there really was no aspect of the team that was prepared to play from the outset: we know we got issues on defense, and hope that many of those will fix themselves as younger players learn their roles.

But TAMU came to play and was ready to go full-bore from the opening snap. As for us, there was no fire and blood in the eyes of the defense, and Thompson came out cold and a little unnerved at the start, going 0 for 3 in the opening series, and our OL didn't block well to start.

That IMO all combined to only fire up TAMU, and they jumped out on us in the score, and we were never able to catch up. Our defense looked lost out there against Hill's passing, and it was almost offensive production at will from start to finish.

IMO, ECU will also gain 500-600 total yards on us next Saturday. Our defense has got too much work to do in the span of 1 week. If Thompson comes out again next week spraying passes all over the place to start off, I may be turning the TV off by the 2nd quarter...

Negatives:
Mike Davis is a bitch

Were gonna have to wait til next year for a dline

It doesn't matter how poorly the secondary plays because nobody can cover for 7 seconds.

Positives:
Our WRs can ball

Teams are never as bad in the long haul as they may look in one game and they're never as dominant in the long haul as they might look in one game.

I was impressed with Thompson, in the bit I watched(and I wasn't a Thompson fan. I am now.). Still gotta watch the whole thing on DVR. You're DLine will get it fixed. They're just too talented not to. Your secondary will improve with games played.

And frankly, this might actually work for y'all. These kids have tons of pride. They are going to make someone pay. Bottom line, it's just 1 game in a long season with lots more football to play. Best of luck the rest of the way.

Also the pregame atmosphere was good enough for sportscenter to show the entire Sandstorm intro as a lead into sportscenter. So at least our fans showed up to the game

It was an ugly game last night, that's for certain. However, it's really hard to judge a team by it's first game, good or bad. I honestly think y'all just came out flat, believing the hype that y'all were favorites to reach the SEC title game and A&M was toothless without Manziel.

Some positives to take away from the game, in my opinion:
-Williams-Brice is still an intimidating venue in which to play. The place was rocking last night at kick-off and through most of the first half. Any stadium will get quiet when the visitors start to pull away, but y'all still have one hell of a home field advantage.
-Your offense has big play capability. That alone makes you a dangerous team to play. On the road a couple of quick strikes can quiet a crowd; at home a couple of quick strikes can whip the crowd into a frenzy and make life difficult for the opponent.
-The defense will get better. The young kids in the secondary will get it together, it will start to click. The inexperienced DL will improve as they play each week. Skai Moore is a damn beast.
-Spurrier is probably cutting people's asses left and right today. He's not going to get caught with his pants down again. I think the team looked unprepared yesterday and he won't let that happen again this year.

I'm still very worried about the game in Columbia. If y'all can limit Gurley without moving safeties into the box then Mason will have a rough day and I still have no clue how our defense will look. I think y'all rebound and still have a pretty good season; might not be the kind of season y'all put together last year, because there are some real reasons for concern, but still a respectable W-L record.

Just the first hame of the season with many new parts. A few games under their belt and they should be much better.

For what its worth, I didn't get to watch the game last night but basically followed it on the net. Also, I got the rundown from a bunch of passed off Gamecocks in the office this morning.

I watched the recording tonight and honestly, I would say TAM is pretty damn good. There were a lot of missed tackles....but those guys were hitting passes that nobody could've defended. Also, SC had guys in position but they just missed a tackle here...or a block there...and that made the difference. By the 2nd half it sucked the wind out of your sails.

I was hoping to see a SC team that looked really bad but you guys were just a step off in most cases. I think you'll be fine and give us a helluva game as usual. Sometimes you're just not ready and the other team is...as a UGA guy I know this feeling.

I don't like scheduling good in conference games out of the gate and this is why....without a preseason and playing in the hardest conference in the country you take a chance every time you have an early marquee matchup.

Just my take....
