Over to the local gun range and turn her loose with an Uzi sub-machine gun...

This is why we can't have nice things.

If you are are going to let her shoot it then leave it on semi-auto and sit down and shoot and this is coming from a huge pro-gun person.

I received my first .22 (single shot) when I was 8, after several years of proving to my father that I respected weapons enough with my BB gun. I was given my 12 gauge at Christmas when I was 12, again, after proving to my father I was capable of properly handling the weapon.

I am 100% in favor of RESPONSIBLE gun ownership, but shite like this ridiculous. Who in their right fricking mind thinks "Hey, I bet my 9 year old child would handle this automatic weapon like a champ!" Or, "Yeah, this 9 year old with the retarded parents can handle an Uzi, I'll give her some pro-tips!"

You take some one with basically no training (or upper body strength) and put a fully automatic weapon in their hands that requires more control and arm strength than most... Dumbass. It's like people that ride a motor bike or four wheeler the first time and press the gas a little too much... what do a lot of them do? Press it harder to hold on tight.

Yeah sure, let an 9 year old girl play with an uzi...what could possibly go wrong

Feel awful for the girl. And the instructor and his family. That gun range will be shelling out some money to both families to smooth all this over.

This was at a place that's supposed to be a "cool" gun range, near vegas. Which is/was the problem. They should have been more strict with policy and training. After only one shot, the instructor switched to full auto. A 9 year old could have fired safely on her own or with an instructor in a given situation, but this was not

Nobody disagreed with the premise of my topic, but I gathered in 3 down votes?

There's the old school gun crowd, really the majority of gun owners, that just want to responsibly own firearms of whatever sort for hunting, target shooting or collecting purposes and be left alone about it.

Then there's the vocal minority that want to own an arsenal of military weapons because "ma conshitushounal rites!". These are the same clowns that open carry assault rifles in restaurants and let their 9 year old daughters fire Uzis. They give the first group a bad name.

shite annoys me.

The little girl was a tourist from New Jersey. Aren't princesses from New Jersey? The poor schmuck was trying to teach a princess to fire an Uzi.

I can't even begin to imagine what is going on in that little girls head. Could you imagine taking a life at the age of 9. RIP to the instructor.

Kids shouldn't be allowed at a gun range plain and simple.
