what Spurrier has done at USC = what Saban has done at Alabama

That is all quite relative wouldn't you agree? Bama has the history and reputation, and you add a Saban for great recipe for success.

What Spurrier has accomplished at USC is almost as good relatively speaking. They have been to 19 bowl games in their history and Spurrier owns 8 of those. USC hasn't had this kind of sustained success like ever to my knowledge.

Not saying he is better or equal here, just saying he has done a tremendous job in Columbus. Would Spurrier have the same success at Bama as Saban? Just about impossible to say.

Obviously Steve's lack of league titles or NC's while at USC hurts his case, but he is one hell of a coach whether you like his personality or not.

Between this thread and the earlier thread about Saban's game day coaching the Auburn fans have come out of the woodwork to talk about how Saban isn't really all that good.

No, what Auburn fans are saying, and any logical fan for that matter, is that saban is not the end-all-be-all. You bama fans can't get his nuts out of your mouth fast enough.

Auburn has had the most success they have ever had in the past five years. Yet, the AU family flocks here to post about Alabama this, or Bammer that. It's their favorite subject!

Don't think I've seen us say that about Saban...at least not using your phrasing. Most 'logical' fans around the country think Saban is the best at this time. So your assertion that Bama fans are illogical is somewhat incorrect.

And the 'nuts out of the mouth' comment is interesting, coming from someone who is likely on the Gus Bus and has possibly latched onto Gus' scrote himself.

I can only imagine Auburn fans if they had a coach that won 3 of the last 5 national titles. I'm sure no praise for the coach would be heard. Hell Malzahn has not won one national title and he is a better coach than saban per most auburn fans on this board. Btw It's not only Bama fans that think Saban is one of the best college coaches of all time.

Yeah, because it's all about NC's.....which means the vast majority of bama seasons have been epic failures.

The Old Ball Sack tries so hard to be relevant and he just isn't and never will be at USC light.

I think it's awesome that Spurrier likes to poke the bear. Nick needs a little shite and Spurrier is about the only coach in the league worthy of giving it to him. I will sure miss the HBC when retires.

Not as epic a failure as AU has been historically.

Amirite?

You seriously don't give a shite about not winning it all? Wow.

I don't even know how to respond to this? I am just waiting for the rest of the Auburn fans on here to announce you a Bama plant.

Steve Spurrier is a mediocre coach that needed a mulligan to win his first and only title. Les Miles has overtaken him in comedy, trolling, and coaching....and it's apparent in the head to head matchups.

If it wasn't for a 2011 Bama esque luck in 1996, Steve Spurrier would be a glorified Mark Richt with the mouth of a late 80s star player on Miami.

This was a more realistic discussion last week when it was the OBC vs Bear at UK.

If you can find a better coach you should grab him and kiss him on the lips...if you are a girl, just to let you know
