So you honestly believe that saban could have won an ACC Championship at Duke?

so you are using a hypothetical as the base of your argument? Brilliant.

You needed him in 2007.

Possibly. But we're pretty satisfied with what we got stuck with.

No one has claimed this, have they? I am simply saying that Spurrier has not won anything since the year 2000, and he is making jokes about how lazy he is compared to other SEC coaches, some of which are way more currently successful than him.

If you can't see the stupidity in that, then I'm not sure what to yell you...

The amount of Bama fans that don't realize it's a lot harder to win at South Carolina than Alabama is mind boggling.

And that's an excuse to win nothing? This talk can go around in circles.

You do realize that was pre-FSU don't you? Hell, I could have won the ACC.

He likes building programs, not winning with already successful ones.

Saban took over a powerhouse at Bama

For fricks sake, how is that an excuse?

Building a sub-.500 program into a top ten team annually is just nothing anymore is it?

Any other conference and we'd have 3 BCS bowl appearances if not for a NC appearance.

I am using facts as the base of my argument. Spurrier won an ACC Championship at Duke. The only time in their history they have done that. He went to UF. I don't know how old you are, but UF was a mid-pack/mediocre SEC, at best, before he got there. He built them into a national power. He won four straight SEC Championships at UF. How many SEC Championships does saban have in his career? Spurrier then goes to USCe, who had a sub .500 winning percentage, I believe. They had a good year and a good year there, but nothing sustained. He has turned them into a power. Spurrier's resume is second to none in college footbal today.

Are you really comparing Bama pre-Saban to South Carolina pre-Spurrier?

I heard that Saban likes to sleep on a float on that waterfall thing y'all have in the lockerroom....

Well, you'd have to face a SEC team in the NC game so you'd be kinda fricked.

But at least you'd have that NC appearance, huh?

If you asked any South Carolina fan, they would take it. I don't think some of you realize how bad South Carolina was before Spurrier, and even during Spurrier's first few years at South Carolina.

Why do the Bama fans in here feel slighted by OBC's comment?

Because he's the only coach that comes close to the coaching level of Saban.

I certainly haven't claimed Spurrier is a better coach, but all the Bama fans discrediting what Spurrier has done for South Carolina and acting like it was nothing because "it would be a disappointment at Alabama" is downright comical.

Slighted? No. Wondering why he's constantly bringing up Saban? Yes.
