Not in that way... The bigger question is, does Mason have the ability to get the ball deep or are we hoping on the receiver's ability to make a move to get a lot of extra yardage?

What is "deep"?

Obviously he doesn't have a Stafford arm, but no other QB at UGA has either. We won't see Mason throw it from the endzone to the other 30 on a go route, but we dont' need him to either. I guess to put it simply...he can make the throws our offense needs him to make to be successful. That's all I care about.

Deep ball is about timing and route running. Even a 4.2 guy needs to run the correct route as in cover 2 he is jammed and in cover 3 he has to close 8 to 10 yards just to get even with the DB. He also needs to do this to end up in a spot that takes the FS out of the play... as well as the CB.

Selling slants and posts are what allow deep balls to work.... and vice versa... that is what they are saying for the most part
