Which of these three would you want to be the HC of your favorite team?

Is this even a question?
The order of these isn't even debatable

Gata fans should know the answer to this question.

Meyer beat Spurrier 56-6 in 2008. Holy fricking shite. I'll take Meyer all day. Don't care if Spurrier has built programs from scratch. Urban Meyer recruits better and coaches better against the big time teams.

2008 was Meyer's best team vs Spurrier's worst or second worst team
Meyer was 0-2 against Spurrier without Tebow and would have lost in '06 if Jarvis Moss had been suspended like he should have been.
You go ahead and use one game as the only criteria for comparing the coaches though

Both Meyer and Spurrier introduced a new style of offense to the SEC while at Florida. It caught up to Urban Meyer, Spurrier not so much. The fact that Spurrier is having success at South Carolina using a totally different coaching style at a school not historically rich in football makes him a fricking pimp. Had Spurrier never left Florida he would be at Bear Bryant/Knute Rockne status.

You criticize my basis of judgement for Meyer and Spurrier based on a singular instance, but then present 2 arbitrary criteria of which to counter it? One being a hypothetical?
Meyer has won and turned programs around everywhere he's been just like Spurrier, and has done so in spectacular fashion. I believe, even though he stayed at Florida for a short period of time, his 2008 team was better than both of Spurrier's best as well as his sudden turnaround.

What he's saying is that Meyer's success was largely the product of a singular, near-generational talent. Spurrier may not have the same peaks due to this, but also not the same valleys. Meyer likely will not duplicate his success at OSU in a weak Big 16, while Spurrier has done something few thought possible at a school while the SEC is loads better than it was when he started at Florida. Hell, you can make a solid argument that the SEC as it is today largely exists because of Steve.
And the Jarvis Moss thing isn't hypothetical. Dude singlehandedly won the '06 game, without which Meyer has only one title and a Heisman winner- just like Spurrier.

Old Ball Coach, Urban Meyer doesn't have the chest to be a coach at a program like LSU

I love Spurrier and think he is the greatest Gator of all time, but if I want to win championships I would probably take Meyer in his prime.
