Excellent writeup. In a lot of ways I see Mizzou as similar to UT - just so damned hard to read/predict in the preseason + questions + potential.

Regarding Mauk & WRs - I'm not completely sold (at least not as much as others are) his completions weren't up to par but boy his legs really helped him keep plays alive. And he did show flashes of great potential. However more than once his WRs made him look fantastic. Still RS Frosh to RS sophomore is huge and did I mention the flashes he show rd? If he puts it together this year he could be at the top of the food chain. Losing DGB and other WRs is gonna hurt even with taken stepping in. WR corps is hurting, imo - just nowhere near what it was.

RB - so many questions, No doubt they're talented but questions linger.

On D - there's just no way around it - losing Sam ad Ealy is tough even w/Golden. BUT Mizzou has always managed to to more with less, especially on dline.

Schedule - Once again this will help tremendously, It will give the team time to gel at various positions AND coaches the ability to scheme and/fix/coach around weaknesses before SEC play. Confidence will help going into conference play as well.

Overall - like UT I see Mizzou with a lot of questions to answer only you have a much better schedule/time to answer them and of course, our road is harder and more laden with issues than yours and we're less likely to go as high should things come together but hopefully you get the question mark comparison. Mizzou is really hard to predict as I could see another sweetheart run or a meh to bad season. I think Mizzou is going to be a very fun/interesting team to watch.

Just my two cents.

Appreciate the great writeup and good luck to y'all this year, cept when we play. If you answer all the questions you could have another great season ahead (hopefully not against us tho - just everyone else). Outstanding job Mizzou FPRC teams!

The first change I hope to see this season is no more running backwards 15 yards trying to escape pressure. It was evident that he was able to get away with that in high school but SEC DLinemen are too fast for that and it cost us a few times. Didn't see the fall scrimmages, but in the spring it looked like he was using his legs to go more parallel to the LOS rather than backwards, making it actually easier to elude a DE crashing inside.

Agree about questions with the WR, but the questions are no different than we had last year.

RB's are probably the least of my concern on offense, other than the OL. Hansbrough and Murphy have proved themselves. Even if no one else contributed, the running game would be just fine. Others will contribute.

Golden and Ray may be as good or better than Sam and Ealy. The problem is, who will be this years "Golden and Ray from 2013"? In other words, nothing proven behind them.

I would agree though. A lot of teams with a lot of unknowns at this point. The good news is we will start getting answers in days now.

Why do you consider last year a "sweetheart" run?
